Rocklin sits directly against Roseville, and people move between the two without thinking about it. The utility companies do not. Roseville has its own municipal electric utility. Rocklin is on PG&E.
That means two things for an air conditioning repair here. First, the Roseville Electric rebates you may have heard about from a neighbor across the line, the $50 tune-up and the $100 smart thermostat, do not apply to a Rocklin address. Second, PG&E runs its own programs, they change, and we check what is actually current when we quote rather than printing a figure that goes stale.
We are based on Westminister Court in Roseville, which puts most of Rocklin within a ten-minute drive. Diagnostic is a flat $69 and it comes off the repair if you have us do the work. Stanford Ranch is a 3,000-acre master-planned community built out through the mid to late 1990s. That is a huge number of homes whose original air conditioners are now pushing thirty years against an industry service life of about fifteen.

Whitney Ranch, at 1,300 acres, and the other 2000s-era tracts on the north side have the air handler in the attic. That single design choice drives the three calls we take most from there between June and September.
If air is moving but it is not cold, start with our checks for an AC blowing warm air before calling anyone, including us.
The Quarry District around City Hall and the older streets of Sunset Whitney are Rocklin’s established neighborhoods, and the housing there predates the tract era. These are the jobs that take longer, and we say so up front.
What we find: equipment in tight closets or garages that were never sized for modern condensing units, duct runs added in stages by different contractors over decades, and return air that is too small for the tonnage. The symptom is a system that runs, sounds loud, and never quite catches up on a 100-degree afternoon. People assume the unit is too small. It almost never is. That is a ductwork problem, and a bigger condenser would make it worse.

If your air handler is in the attic, which is most of Whitney Ranch and the newer tracts, the condensate drain probably clogged, the pan filled, and the float switch cut the power on purpose. It is a cheap fix that looks like a disaster. Check the pan for standing water.
